Minor issues with script upgrade
I just finished upgrading the LoC and have noticed some cosmetic issues where certain images will not appear even though nothing was changed. I'll look into this a little later, but it shouldn't keep you from using the site. If you do encounter any error, pleaase don't hesitate to contact me through fanfics@suethomasfbeye.net and I'll look into that. Thank you

I'm back people!!!
After being offline for over a month with a busted computer, I am now back with a new and improved machine that should allow me to work wonders. Now, I only need to be able to transfer all my files on this new beast and everything will be peachy. So this means you can expect updates on those fanfics of mine pretty soon.

Authors and Staff needed
The LoC is looking for dedicated authors and Staff members to help relaunch the archives. Authors should only submit their stories after reading the Submission Rules as we will be enforcing those rules to insure the quality of the stories found on our site. Members interested in becoming part of the Staff should contact me through the Contact Author link on my profile.

New Features on the LoC
You may notice things are looking a bit different than they were the last time you logged on - that's because I finally upgraded the eFiction script to its latest stable release. The skinning was my main concern as a lot changed since version 2 which we were using and I was afraid things would stop working as they should. Well, I have one small issue with the story index not showing properly but that will not alter your browsing experience so... have fun!

Problem accessing 'Your Account'
Someone brought to my attention that you can no longer access 'Your Account' or 'Your Stats' since I patched the install.
I'll have a look tonight as soon as I get home and I'll fix this as soon as possible. Sorry for not having noticed before!
Update: Everything has been fixed. The manual instructions for patching the installation were incomplete and as such, it screwed up the user.php file. Thank you for your patience. Everything is back in working order now.

Skins optimization completed: v 2.0
After testing the functions of eFiction 3.0 and seeing the evolution of the beta testing, I have decided not to wait and to go ahead with the skin optimization on the Library of Congress.
All skins have now been made more user friendly and less resource intensive. You'll also notice a few changes, like the news disappearing from the index page. I decided that this was a site for fanfics, not news... so fanfics should have the upper hand. But you can still read the site news by clicking the News Archive link in the menu.
Another addition is that you can now add an avatar to your user profile. Those images need to be linked and cannot exceed 150px X 150px. I mean, yes, you can link to larger pics, but we'll be closely monitoring those images and any found to be larger will be deleted without further notice.
I hope you like the improvements. Don't hesitate to let me know by commenting on this newscast.

2.0 skins currently on hold
In the last news report, I said I would be modding all current skins to 2.0 version whenever I got all the kinks worked out of the Supernatural skin. That idea has been put on hold for the time being. Let me explain why.
A beta release of eFiction 3.0 has been released and it's allowed me to see that there will be a lot of changes to be made to the skins to make them compliant with the script. I don't see the need to redo the skins twice over the span of a month or two...
As bugs are being worked out in the beta release and eFiction 3.0 moves toward a stable build, I will start working on the necessary modifications to the Supernatural skin and THEN only will I be able to release all the other skins in their 2.0 version.
Thank you for your patience. :)

Supernatural skin improved
If you use the Supernatural skin, chances are you thought you were hallucinating in the past few days when changes started being implemented on it. As it is, Supernatural is now on version 2.0 of the skin - and all the present skins will be modified accordingly.
Why did I do that? The coding was too heavy previously and too much information was hard-coded into the templates. Instead, this time, I have implemented most of the colors into the style sheet so I only have to make one file alteration instead of 12.
Furthermore, the look of the tables is now easily achieved through CSS instead of having 3 embedded tables inside one another to get the same result I have now.
Feel free to comment on the process and what you think of it.
There are still sections waiting to be brought to the CSS stage, but it's nothing that stops functionality of the site or anything. It's just from a coding standpoint.

New TV series added
A category for the late TV show Dark Angel has been added to the Library of Congress - with subcategories for the pairings of Max/Logan, Max/Alec, Logan/Asha and Alec/Asha.
The characters are not all added yet and it is possible a section will be added for Max/Zack in a near future. So fans of DA are more than welcomed to post their fanfics, old or new.
